Mystery Knitting

As it generally happens, an idea for a last minute gift pops into one's head.... (Yes, I'm hiding the color as it's bits and pieces and will be dyed when finished!)

Looking for cute comments to add to homemade sock packages?
We often play the "if I had money this is what I'd get you" game. Here's what I wish someone would get in my name.

Keeping the "We" in "Yes, We Can!"

Making Do and Doing Without.

If you haven't tried this recipe making the e-mail rounds, please do. You'll be surprised how good it is. Next time I'm adding chocolate or fudge sauce. I think one cake is enough for two, but your mileage may vary.

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
A small splash of vanilla extract (or other flavoring that goes with chocolate)
1 large coffee mug

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix very well.

Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.
Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.
The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!
Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired. Eat while warm.
And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world?
Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any
time of the day or night!

  1. What a subversive recipe! I'm sending it to my DD--the DGDs will love doing this.

I really am glad you're commenting. Please make sure I can find you by insuring you leave an e-mail address. It's so frustrating to have someone ask a question and no way to answer them! Thanks!
