Here's what I got done during yesterday's
These muffatees are made of Plymouth Encore and 25% superwash, 75% acrylic blend. It is left over from the socks I made 3rd Son when I was in Tennessee. They were knit flat and then seamed up leaving an opening for the thumb.

These were made from odds and ends of left over sock yarns. These were knitted in the round up to the thumb (solid) area. That section was knit straight and then joined together again to knit in the round to make the palm. The stripes were achieved using Grumperina's method which creates the look of hand painted yarns with relatively even repeats. I like the effect it creates, but like Fair Isle there is much tangling of yarns and gnashing of teeth.
I now have completed six of the eight pair needed to enter me in the drawing for wonderful prizes! These eight pair are to be finished and in the mail to the Cheyenne River Reservation by the end of September so that the members of the tribe have them when winter sets in there. However, beyond our goal of eight pair per participant, we are trying to send somewhere between 600 - 1000 pairs of hand warmers. These can be knitted, crocheted, sewn or simply purchased. Those really stretchy Magic Gloves you can find at the dollar stores for $.99 are fantastic when paired up with muffatees like those in the pics! Please consider helping us out! More information can be found at Sheep Shots and at Native American Support on Yahoo. It gets really, really cold on the plains of South Dakota. Help keep hands warm! And of course, all contributions are tax deductible.

F found a pottery wheel! He's been foaming at the lips ever since he took a pottery class while living in Lake Havasu. He really enjoys pottery but wanted more than a place to go take a class. He often has insomnia and wants something to do at 3 in the morning! So we are heading up to Glendale today to pick up his wheel! I expect many new items from him in return! :)))
