I finished up the first sock! I really like they way it turned out. Kinda wished I'd done an afterthought or similar heel to get the same effect on the heels as the toes. Hindsight is always 20-20! I think this yarn would knit up nicely in st st, too. The stripes would be in a pattern, but it appears it's a long pattern.

Second sock is CO and I've started the heel flap. I don't know why I am enjoying knitting these socks so much, but it's bordering on obsessive.
