Ho Ho HO....

I spent my knitting time yesterday making up a neck-warmer for a friend of the family. Her son goes to the school my granddaughter used to go to. After we switched schools, she still volunteered several times a week to go the extra couple miles out of her way to pick up granddaughter for play dates and such. Her son had an accident at school and ended up in surgery with a broken arm. And, she still went to pick up granddaughter! So I made her a hug.
Neckwarmer 1

Four strands of various wools, size 10 needles, knit five rows, purl one row, repeat. Add a YO in center at one end for the button hole. Easy Peasy.

Took F Christmas shopping yesterday to pick up stocking stuffers and such for his dear hubby. Then I picked up grandson and friend of family daughter for a couple hours so their moms can pack up the house to move to Houston.

Talked to DIL for a few minutes. Youngest Grandson (he'll be one tomorrow) took his first steps on Wednesday. We also talked about my visit (Shelbyville, TN) and if 3rd Son can cash in his frequent flyer miles my ticket will be paid for in the immediate future. She asked if the March dates were okay, and I said, "Hey, I'll come anytime. I can be packed in 20 minutes!" Waiting for a phone call to see what they found out. We talked about me moving out there and I'm sure it wasn't serious talk, but boy, I'd love to leave the desert. It's not so bad this time of year, but the 110 in the shade all summer long is really getting old. Geeze, I've been here for 15 years now (minus a three year stint in Anchorage and 18 months in TX). I want green grass, trees, change of seasons, snow, and boy, I miss spring.... Yes, I'd move east and/or north.....

And now, to remember the real reason for the season:
A man was being tailgated by a stressed out woman on a busy boulevard. Suddenly, the light turned yellow, just in front of him. He did the right thing, stopping at the crosswalk, even though he could have beaten red light by accelerating through the intersection.

The tailgating woman was furious and honked her horn, screaming in frustration as she missed her chance to get through the intersection, dropping her cell phone and makeup.

As she was still in mid-rant, she heard a tap on her window and looked up into the face of a very serious police officer. The officer ordered her to exit her car with her hands up. He took her to the police station where she was searched, finger printed, photographed, and placed in a holding cell.

After a couple of hours, a policeman approached the cell and opened the door. She was escorted back to the booking desk where the arresting officer was waiting with her personal effects.

He said, "I'm very sorry for this mistake. You see, I pulled up behind your car while you were blowing your horn, flipping off the guy in front of you, and cussing a blue streak at him. I noticed the 'What Would Jesus Do' bumper sticker, the 'Choose Life' License plate holder, the 'Follow Me to Sunday-School' bumper Sticker, And the chrome-plated Christian fish emblem on the trunk, Naturally...

I assumed you had stolen the car."

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year!
