Well, let's see.... Not having read the pattern for the Sweet Baby Hat I just CO with WW yarn and worked about two inches before I realized I was knitting a hat that would be too big for most adults. :::heavy sigh::: So that gets frogged today. My whole days knitting.... Of course I'm counting challenged so I'd spent a reasonable amount of time frogging and recounting. Things are just not knittin' my way lately.

When I went upstairs for the evening, I just worked on my log cabin blanket. I'm very thankful I didn't figure out a way to screw that up, too!

Several weeks ago, I bent one of my DPNs. I only had four metal size 2s (my sock needles of choice) and a set of Brittany size 2s. I started using my Brittany's. Well, it didn't take very long for them to start breaking. Thankfully they broke towards one end and I was able to sand a point onto the broken end and had some nice short sock needles. It's working, but is limiting to CO one sock at a time. Not that I really need to CO more than that, but.....knowing I can't always makes me want to do it just to prove I can.... (Aren't psychosis fun?) Well, I ordered some more needles today from Boye Knitting Needles. I got 2s, 3s, and 4s. They should ship early next week. Then I'll have plenty of needles to CO socks I can't seem to be able to knit lately. New needles ought to do the trick though, don't you think?

And that's about all on the knitting front to report. It feels like it's really been a non-productive week for me. Just can't seem to settle into doing it.

Let's see what's goin' on around the knitting net world. Ann at Sheep Shots has issued a challenge to make seven pairs of mittens to send to the Cheyenne River Reservation in Eagle Butte, SD. (Check out that link if nothing else for the way cool cursor!) Cheyenne River is one of the poorest Sioux reservations and receives very little help from outsiders. Pine Ridge generally gets all the charity. So if you're in the mood to help.... They need, in addition to mittens, hats, socks, scarves, sweaters.....any and every thing!

Rosemary Go Round has some wonderful shawl pins.

And should you have severe Second Sock Syndrome, here's some ideas for those single socks

Here are some really classy baby pants for all your grandmas to make!

Scroll down to the May 15th entry and look at that sweater. It's knit entirely of sock yarn on #3 needles. Can you spell i-n-s-a-n-i-t-y?

and more things to make from sock yarn.
