- Now is the spring of our discontent

I finished up the experiment sock...it's based on the
Magic 28 pattern from Now Norma Knits. CO 28 sts, knit 28 rows, do heel, count rows from where heel started and knit till there are 28 rows from that point, do toe. Didn't have my grand daughter try them on, but I think they'd fit, made with ww, a six to eight year old. The "cuff" is the Scallop Pattern, October 15, 365 Knitting Stitches a Year Perpetual Calendar. Notice, by the way,
that I've finally incorporated, successfully, some lace in a stocking!
Having some kind of knitting block in trying to CO the socks for my son. I've determined I need to CO 72 sts. But for some reason this sock yarn (KnitPicks) seems soooo tiny... I complained about the Tofutsies being like several strands of sewing thread, but I'm having more difficulty working with this. Try again today...maybe.
My latest project is this Sweet Baby Cap from Gros Blog.
I saw it on one of the knitting boards but the pattern was in Norwegian, I think. Now it's been translated and I cast one on last night! I think it's so cute! The finished hat will go in the pile for Michelle.
Went to the library yesterday. Found two brand new (to me) knitting books: 100 Knitting Projects by Jean Leinhauser and Rita Weiss
and
Vintage Knits with several patterns from many different designers: Kaffe Fassett, Kim Hargreaves, Sarah Dallas, Martin Storey, Sharon Peake, Louisa harding, Brandon Malbly, Lucidna Guy. Reviews to come at a later date. I will say the second book has an absolutely gorgeous male model! Whoofta!
Are you ever interested in finding if a local library has a book? Try this
to see. It's linked to over 10,000 libraries world wide. Amazing tools on the internet....
Isn't this a cute graphic? It's one of the Threadless T-Shirts. The pic is a link to the site to buy it if you're so inclined!
I thought this was a really nice sweater. One I'd wear, but never make. The hours of endless knitting would make me crazy!
I've seen spindle spinners with small bags hanging from their arms to hold the wool so they could walk and spin at the same time. (Me? Never! I have difficulty walking and chewing gum at the same time!) This gal
made some bags to carry rovings OR your favorite sock project. What do you think? Just one more thing to have around, or a viable tool?
Here's another Entrelac project that is just gorgeous. The pattern is available in pdf format. Would I make it? Never! I'd probably never wear it either. But boy, howdy! Wouldn't it look gorgeous draped over "my chair"? I still have to try and make the washcloth I posted the link to the other day!
I thought this had some interesting knitting tips. I think the Italian Cast off was the same as EZ's sewn cast off, but I may be wrong. The sock heel looked interesting.
Eye candy. Just scroll down and look at all the pics. If you leave a comment, you're entered in a contest.
