- One less sweater in the world....
-
Although I'd seen the shelf of sweaters for sale at my grand daughter's school all year long, I'd never really seen it! Yesterday, I saw it and pawed through them. Found two I thought would work to recycle. Only one was, but I got 155 gms of usable fingering weight yarn. It's a nice combination of autumn colors.
I spent most of the day with F recycling the sweater while he worked on building a seating area next to his pool. I really enjoyed the day as we talk, but are comfortable with long periods of silence, too.
I got a little bit of knitting done.
I'm ready to start the shaping the heel. These are very short socks for my daughter to wear with her sneakers to work. She doesn't particularly like regular length socks, so they should be a quick knit as the leg is only like ten rounds.
I generally don't complain much here, but ya know..... One thing that really torques my jaw is women saying they have to hide their stash, lie to their Domestic Partner about their stash or statements like, "My husband says I'm spending too much money on yarn." I do understand that spending money can be an addiction, and that many people give in to advertising and buy lots of stuff they don't really need. However, the implication that one has to lie and hide one's hobby materials from the one person in the world that is "till death do us part" just rubs me the wrong way. Either she needs to get a gripe on her spending or he needs to butt out. This is a pic of a quilt I made for my autistic grandson. He loves the little ribbon loops on stuffed animals and such. The quilt was a big hit!
