Sweater of Many Colors

Nothing much new to share today. This is what I've been working on when I do find time to knit. It's based on Mavis and has been way too much fun to knit! I'm further along than this pic shows...front and back are finished, one arm has ribbing around it and the other has about two more rows to do. Still have neck line ribbing and the hood. Although I've woven in many of the loose ends, there are still many to do.

My next sweater, I think, will be the Portuguese Sweater. I just think the simplicity of it's design is way too cool! I also saw the cutest pair of "jeans" in the new Mason-Dixon Knitting Outside the Lines. I know of two babies due in June and think these might just be too cute!

Take a look at this and see if you don't agree. Fast food is a high speed train to illness. We took tobacco ads off TV, how about Mickey D, Jack and the King, too! The stuff is addictive to our kids and creates a life long jonesing! Ask me, I know! The only craving I've had since I started this whole change was a cheeseburger. Not candy, not donuts, a cheeseburger.

Another thing...take the time to go check out the Portion Distortion Quiz. It'll be an eye opener! Along with the advertising agencies telling us how much of our money to spend and where we should spend it to be "cool", they are also encouraging poor health. But then the drug companies are taking our money to fix that, too. Just exactly where do you want to spend your money? Just say, "No!" to Super Sizing!

Lifestyle changes are becoming habitual now, for the most part. My mornings are filled with a little computer work, exercising for an hour, cleaning up and getting the kids off to school. Somewhere in there is time to make a protein smoothie. I've lost a total of 17 lbs since the end of January. I can feel muscles where I didn't even know I still had muscles, and have lower measurements around chest and belly. There is progress. Oh, and I feel much better! I guess that counts, too.

I really am glad you're commenting. Please make sure I can find you by insuring you leave an e-mail address. It's so frustrating to have someone ask a question and no way to answer them! Thanks!
