“Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could only do a little.” Edmund Burke

So yesterday I ended up helping my BFF, F, get his new computer. He decided to get an Mac this time. All he bought was the "tower." His "tower" fits in a 9 x 9 cake pan with room to spare. That's it. Eight by eight by 2 inches.

He gave me his old PC. Just the tower. It's 15.5 x 15.5 x 7.5 inches. Now I'm not complainin' by any means. It's big, but it's fast, and has lots of space and is mostly empty. And my son helped me save bookmarks, passwords, etc., so it pretty much works just like the old one. Except faster, the speed of light faster. And quiet. Very quiet. With a built in DVD burner.

Today was spent transfering files from old to new, cleaning off the computer desk (although you can't tell by looking at it) and reinstalling the few programs I need to do my thing.

  1. Lucky you! A faster computer. I need to have my DSL line checked. My computer is so slow that I keep my knitting by the darn thing and knit while waiting for things to load.

I really am glad you're commenting. Please make sure I can find you by insuring you leave an e-mail address. It's so frustrating to have someone ask a question and no way to answer them! Thanks!
