Vacation Socks

I CO on my vacation project last night...just to get it started! :) Plain vanilla socks made from a special (to me anyway) sock yarn, Deathly Hallows from Cosmic Fibers who does themed yarns. This one is based on the cover art of the British edition of the last Harry Potter book, Deathly Hallows.I personally think it's closer to the US version of the cover art, but who am I to question an artist? The recipient of the latest sweater woke up in a good mood so I was able to get pictures of her in it.

As you can see, it fits perfectly which means after our vacation it'll be too small! It does look good, doesn't it?

Today will be very busy with packing, running errands and such. Youngest Daughter took the night off tonight (she usually works from 11 pm - 7 am) so we can take off as early in the morning as we'd like. When my kids were little we always left around 2 am so they would sleep most of the way there and we'd arrive in time to go into the park for our first day at the Happiest Place on Earth. We're not headed for the park tomorrow but plan to stop at a beach for a good portion of the day, arriving in the hotel in the late afternoon for a quiet evening and plenty of rest for the next day!

See ya next week!

Rant: I hear it alot again... Everyone raving about the great customer service at KnitPicks for all the broken Options needles. I mean, don't get me wrong, I think it's great that KP will send out replacement needles lickety-split, but why do people keep buying needles that break all the time? And furthermore, why do people keep recommending them with statements like: "I thinkyou'll love your Options and when they break they replace them immediately." Not "if" they break, but "when" they break. Brittany will replace their wooden sock needles, too, but I quit using them as they break all the time. Doesn't make sense to keep using something that one knows won't make it through the project....

  1. Your sweater is even better looking on. Maybe it's the model. Have a great time on your vacation.

  2. Sweater looks really great and your grandaughter's smile is precious.

Needles..........I love my Denise Needles and really treasure them. I like the storage (i.e. case) better as well.

  3. The sweater looks great. I had the same thought about the colors in the sock yarn being like the American version when I first saw it.

    Have a great vacation.
