Old and New

This is the Baby Surprise Jacket I made last fall for Youngest Granddaughter, who promptly refused to wear it--until yesterday. Somehow, because it was cold outside, she decided it was okay to wear. I'm not questioning her thought processes, only thankful she'd wear it!

Here is my first step on the Heet the Feet booties Ann is teaching us to knit. Sometime today I'll do the next step which involves joining this and knitting in the round. The rectangle I've knitted is the back and bottom of the heel.

Got several inches done on the Tank Top I'm making for Hawaii living grandson's 7th birthday in February. I'm pleased with how it's coming along and if all goes will it'll be finished in plenty of time to be shipped over the other big pond. I've discovered it' isn't necessarily big needles I don't like to knit with, but needles too big for the yarn I'm using. This is deliberate for this shirt as I want it to be airy. But it sure doesn't lend itself to the nice rhythm of knitting I'm used to.

F and I went out for lunch/coffee. French Onion soup at Mimi's! Yum! We chatted about everything and just generally enjoyed a break from out regular lives.

Youngest Daughter and Youngest Son spent good money to go see I Am Legend. I told them it wasn't worth it and after $13 for tickets, plus snacks, they agreed with me. Too bad....the story had potential.

I'm waiting anxiously for Stardust to arrive in my mail box today from Netflix. I really enjoyed it on the screen and can't wait to see it again. I borrowed Hollywoodland and Dream Girls from the library. DG was good, haven't had time to watch the other yet.

  1. Nice jacket. I still haven't worked up the nerve to start one for a baby that was a preemie (so it won't be much bigger than a dishcloth). I'm a sweater chicken.

I really am glad you're commenting. Please make sure I can find you by insuring you leave an e-mail address. It's so frustrating to have someone ask a question and no way to answer them! Thanks!
