Caught in the act!
Caught in the act! magnify

TeddyBear tried to tell me the dog did it, but I caught the culprit in the act! You know, the cats can go months without bothering any of my yarn...long enough for me to think they are past it. Then all the sudden they are in it full force again. I was careful to only make cat toys from acrylic yarn so they wouldn't think sheepy stuff was theirs. It didn't work. Wool is their toy of choice!

Here's my seven things from Joansie's tag. I'm not going to tag anyone so if you are inclined to participate, consider this an open invitation!

Seven things about me

  • I was in the Air Force for seven years: 1974-1981 My AFSC (Air Force Specialty Code) was a driver, as in cars, trucks and buses. However for the most part I only drove a desk, which was fine with me.
  • I lived in Alaska for three years: 1979-1982 Anchorage is a beautiful place. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire time we lived there. Two of my six kids were born there and we were eligible for a cash bonus in 1982. It was a refund from all the oil profits and all Alaskan citizens received $1000.
  • I am addicted to TV. The summer is going to be very long (and it starts this Saturday) as I don't like having the TV on all day when the kidlet is not in school.
  • I have Asperger's Syndrome so generally don't like be around people if I'm expected to interact with them. The tough part is I really would rather have people around. Most of the time I wish I was invisible.
  • I have always needed to do two things at the same time: reading/knitting/crocheting/cross stitch while watching TV, listening to books, music, or TV while doing housework.
  • I homeschooled all six of my kids completely, and one of my grands for a year. And will be doing it this summer. Hopefully if my eldest grand daughter learns to read she can find things to keep her occupied over the summer.
  • My mother and I haven't spoken more than a dozen words in the last 20 years. (This really is a good thing.)

I did some work on my dishcloth yesterday, but dedicated most of my time to the log cabin blanket. I started in January. The first section is 3.5 x 8. 5 inches. At this point the blanket is 22 x 27 inches.

I just finished the oatmeal section on the far right last night. It's time to raid the stash to find some new yarn colors!

OH! OH! OH! Guess who moved out yesterday???? Right! The infamous family next door. The ones who flooded my back yard earlier this year. The ones that pound on the walls for fifteen minutes at a time. The ones that lock the little ones outside. (The older sister who is chief babysitter did this. The little ones, 6-8 years old would pound on the cast iron screen door with rocks for, it seemed like hours, until she let them in.) The ones with the foul mouths. Yep, that's the ones! They moved out, finishing up about 11:15 last night!

We live in connected town homes and even though the walls are concrete block, sound travels right through them (like an incessant beeping alarm clock next door). As of 11:15 last night we don't have anyone living on either side of us. I know it'll take all summer to clean up the house next door, so we may have a nice quite summer!

Let's see what I found while perusing the net today:

Here's some really nice pics of fiber animals.

Penny did a great job on this diagonal baby blanket. The color combos and repeats are just beautiful!

I am totally impressed by this shawl. If you click on the pick you can see a larger view which is even more impressive!

For the crocheters, here's a sock pattern from sock yarn. I've not crocheted socks from sock yarn yet, but have a friend who's made some gorgeous ones.

Some knitted toy patterns. Look around on this site. Some really nice eye candy.

Speaking of eye candy, check out this foot candy!

This looks like it might be a great help when learning to construct a sweater without a pattern.
