- Socking it to me!
-
I picked up my Micro Spun sock for a bit yesterday. Got the heel decreases finished and have about two inches till starting the toe decreases. The fabric is so soft and cushy.
I'm liking even more, the way the slip rib pattern is breaking up the color pooling from this old acrylic yarn. This kind of yarn is what gave variegated such a bad name. Pooling and striping of colors. And even though it's machine made, the patterning isn't consistent from skein to skein.
There is a pattern to the colors in this, but I think they are broken up enough to not be really consistent. It'll be interesting when the next skein is introduced. I'm thinking it would be really neat in the Red Heart Mexicana as the colors change every inch or so instead every four or five inches.
Using Limewire <--click I downloaded an MP3 file of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I've been listening to it on my computer while doing my blog and knitting. Trying to wean myself from so much daytime TV before summer vacation starts. Both my grand daughters could become extremely addicted to TV if left on their own. And I'll be the first to admit I love TV and left on my own, would have it on from the time I get up till after I fall asleep! I adore the timer on my bedroom TV. I fall asleep watching TV and some time later it shuts off all by itself!
I've seen, since I've seriously started reading blogs outside of 360, seen a couple Clapotis <--click shawls. I'm intrigued by the construction, although not sure I'd want to make one. I wouldn't wear it and I know no one that would..... It sure is pretty, tho.
The designer of the Clapotis has her own blog, Needles on Fire. <--click Check out the picture of not two socks on circs, but four socks on circs! Although the idea of knitting both socks at the same time appeals to me, I really like working on DPNs. I just need to get a few more sets so I can CO both socks at the same time..... It's not that I've had too much trouble with Second Sock Syndrome, but it just seems that, at least psychologically, the whole process would go faster and one would have a new pair instead of one sock and then later on, another sock.
Don't mind me, the coffee hasn't kicked in yet.
Joansie, in answer to question about the socks in the bottle yesterday.... Yes, there is a pair of socks in the soda bottle. I glued the top on a clean and dry bottle. Then cut a 1 x 3 inch window in the side of the bottle after removing the label. The socks were wrapped in white tissue paper and shoved through the window into the bottle. Then a wrapping paper label was taped on with the address printed on it. Clear packaging tape secured the label even further. Had no problem with the postal employee....not even a second look!
