Cascade 220 Super wash Child's House Sock for size 11/2 shoes

With #4 size needles and main color, CO 36 sts.

Join and knit st st for ten rows. (Or do your favorite cuff)

Join 2nd color and stripe for a total of 22 rows, 11 of each color. Break off main color leaving a six inch tail

Do your favorite heel or divide sts for heel, putting 18 sts on one needle and the other 18 sts on waste yarn.

Knit heel flap with 2nd color in st st for 20 rows ending with a completed K row.

Row 1 P11 sts, P2tog, P1 and turn

Row 2 Sl 1, K5 sts, K2 tog, K1 and turn

Row 3 S1 P across to one st before the gap (turning on last row), P2tog, P1, turn

Row 4 S1 K across to one st before the gap (turning on last row), K2tog, K1, turn

Repeat these 4 rows until 12 sts remain on needle ending with a knit row

Break off 2nd color

With MC, go down the side of the heel flap and pick up ten or so sts.

Put sts on waste yarn on another needle. Knit across these with yet another needle.

Pick up ten or so sts on side of heel flap and knit the next 6 sts with the same needle.

Knit one round even.

Round 1: Starting with the needle (N1) in at the at the heel, k to the last three sts, K2tog, K1

Knit across instep evenly on N2.

On N3, K1, K2togtbl (Knit 2 together through back loop) and knit to the end of the needle

Round 2 Knit even

Repeat these two rounds until a total of 36 sts remain, 18 on N2, and 9 each on Ns 1 & 2

Knit evenly in the round for 20 rows.

Do your favorite toe or

Round 1 Starting at the center of the bottom of the sock, K10, k2tog around

Even numbered rounds: knit even

Round 3 K9, K2tog around

Round 5 K8, K2tog around

Round 7 K7, K2tog around

Round 9 K6, K2tog around

Round 11 K5, K2tog around

Round 12 K4, K2tog around

Cut tail about 6 inches from work. Thread on yarn needle and gather remaining sts. Turn inside out and weave in loose ends.
