Weaving in Loose Ends

Youngest Daughter informed me yesterday the beret I made her a year ago has stretched out so much it's not wearable. I am not sure if I can full it some to help or not, so I dug out some odds and ends of yarn and made this hat for her.
Although it appears to fit Eldest Granddaughter, it is way too big for her. Because I didn't want to fiddle with DPNs, I just made it a tube and added some eyelets for a cord. And
because I did not want to mess with hours of knitting I cord, I crocheted the chain, laced it through the eyelets and voilĂ ! a new hat that can be opened up and used as a neck gaiter.

Then I saw Turtlegirl's Pink Light Special this morning and thought...oh what a good idea! So I may have to play with that today. Then maybe back to the regularly scheduled knitting.

It's the end of the year and everyone is doing a recap of their year. Not me. I knit, I read, I watched TV, saw youngest grand daughter grow from baby to little girl, watched the birth of my youngest grandson. Life goes on. 2008 will be much the same as 2007, 2006, 2005. Living life as it presents itself each day.

Best wishes for the New Year to each of you. May your yarn basket always overflow!
