Horns of a Dilemma

I really like to support the individual mom & pop type businesses, but gang, I am on a severely limited income (<$500.00/month) from which bills need to be paid. It's very hard to not buy something like Imagination from Knitpicks at $10 for a pair of socks vs $20+ elsewhere. Not only do the color names speak to my child like (not childish) heart, but it has alpaca, too! However, since I must spend my money on pills to keep my back from aching, it's really a moot point.

I got an inch or so done on the Tropical Socks. Yesterday ended up being a bit more busy than Ihad anticipated. We did some house cleaning in the morning, Youngest Granddaughter's caseworker came by for a visit. Then we decided to go to our favorite Chinese place for lunch buffet and on to the movies! We saw HellboyII which was really fantastic! It was directed by

the same director as Pan's Labyrinth which I also enjoyed greatly enjoyed.

We also went a week or so ago to see Hancock. I went because my sons wanted to see it. I was pleasantly surprised at what a good movie it was.

We also stopped in Borders. Although I didn't buy any books, I did notice Nora Roberts has a new one out, Tribute. So many books, so little time!
It's still hot and muggy. Right now the temperature is 77 with 77% humidity. Blech.

  1. At least we can get books from the library, but unfortunately they don't do sock yarn.

I did go to a mom and pop store to get new batteries for my camera and stumble into a deal on 12 batteries for my MP3 for $2. Now I can have audiobooks cheap.

  2. Lizzie, I have the bottom two colorways pictured. One, I think, is called Red Hat (after the group). I've knitted with this yarn and it's ok at first but does not wash well no matter how careful you are...it shrinks.

I couldn't leave a comment on your other post but wanted to say that your current socks are the prettiest ones yet.

I really am glad you're commenting. Please make sure I can find you by insuring you leave an e-mail address. It's so frustrating to have someone ask a question and no way to answer them! Thanks!
