- Yes, I can sew....
-
So, I thought I'd share something I made for myself now that reading glasses are a part of my life. It's a bookmark/glasses holder. My reading glasses fit nicely in the little pouch are always ready when I get a chance to sit down with my current read. Of course I have a pair with my knitting and a pair in my purse, JIC, and several other pair in strategic locations around the house. I tried using the necklace type holder that fastens on the bows of the glasses, but they get in the way. So this is my best solution!
We had a nice family dinner last night after my daughter got home from work. Roast stuffed chicken, steamed fresh carrots and broccoli with strawberry shortcake for dessert. We had real whupped cream that I whupped myself. Leftovers are in my coffee this morning! Yum!
I didn't get one stitch knitted on my socks yesterday. F's hubby, B's birthday is this Friday and I was trying to find something to make for him. He's into music big time, all this Egypt, reading, movies, and the Internet, especially games. One would think will all these interests....
I ended up designing a wash cloth with an Ankh (Egyptian symbol of Life) on it. Thought that was appropriate for a birthday!
I got it about 75% knitted with acrylic yarn and then had to help finish up dinner fixin's. When I finish it up today, I'll take a pic. Then I'll have to start working on the cotton one. I may need to go buy some nice cotton for it.... It really needs a nice solid color to show off the design.
It was the first time I'd ever designed a picture for a wash cloth. I drew it out on graph paper and then wrote out the design line by line. Time consuming, but not hard. Now I know how to do it. Always a good skill to have in the back of my head. I have hundreds of cross stitch charts of which some could be made into nice designs.
I got a good part of the current click--> Michelle hat done - started the decreases, so that'll be done tonight.
Today's the last day of spring vacation for my grand daughter. Off to school in the morning. And my daughter's new work schedule starts tomorrow, too. Maybe I'll get to sequester myself in my room, clean it up and knit in peace! Okay...I can dream can't I?
