- Much Ado....about something :)
-
Youngest Grand daughter has claimed this job as her own. After having watched one or the other of us put the garbage bag in the can, she's decided she can handle it! She does a pretty good job of it, too! Smart little 19 month old!
I didn't get any knitting done to speak of yesterday. F picked me up and we went to lunch, then to the movies. Saw Spiderman. Don't waste your money. Three hours that seemed like six. So totally predictable, minimal plot. They expected the special effects to carry the movie and there weren't that many new ones. Watching Spidey swing through NY just doesn't do it anymore.... I was disappointed. F and I give it "Two Thumbs Down."
After that disappointment, we went to Baskin-Robbins to freeze out our disappointment. Only to create another one. Oh, the ice cream was as good as always, but over $7.00 for three scoops of ice cream? Puhleeze! Nothing special, a double scoop cone and a single scoop dish. Oh and the movie prices have gone up, too, since the last time I went. Six dollars for the matinee, $9.50 regular price. Of course this is the new ownership of the theaters and they accept credit cards so that accounts for the price increase....
The best part of our day was coffee at Border's Bookstore. We sat and chatted worked on some paperwork.
The knitting I didn't work on was a dishcloth. I CO on
this Ridge Stitch Dishcloth with the rest of the MicroSpun to see how well it works and if it lives up to the rave reviews I've read.
The Heathen Housewife has been making a mitered blanket. Click the link button to see it. Unbelievable. Again, a good way to use up those leftover balls of yarn! I'm not sure when she started it...but it looks way cool.
So, I have no knitting pics to share, but here's a couple of cross stitch pictures I did in years of yore.....
The second one is Shakespear's Much Ado About Nothing. If you've never seen the movie with Kenneth Branagh, Emma Thompson, Denzel Washington, Keanu Reeves, Kate Beckinsale, Michael Keaton and Robert Sean Leanord (Dr. Wilson from House, M.D.)
take the time to rent it. It's a fabulous story and really fun to watch, not to mention an outstanding cast!
There is a new knitting/crochet community, Ravelry,
in the process of being created. From the way I understand it, it's like 360, except that everyone in it is a fiber person. Right now it's by invitation only as they are still testing everything. Those that are "in" and have posted about it say it's fantastic. Guess the rest of us will have to wait and see!
