My trees got a haircut!
My trees got a haircut! magnify

F came over yesterday and we, well actually he, trimmed the trees. REALLY trimmed them! Obviously his visualization and mine were very different. But his was backed my solid information and my with emotional attachment to my trees! He won. (Oh, and he had all the sharp objects, so that weighed in his favor!)

There's lots of light in the back yard now, the sun hits the dirt (helping it dry out faster, which would have been really nice earlier this week) and there is enough of a breeze now I can hear my wind chimes!

This is F cutting up the dead tree he chopped down just like Paul Bunyan!

So, you ask, how much knitting did I get done? Not a whole lot. Before F got here, I was :gasp: cleaning house. Cleaned the downstairs bathroom, swept and washed the floors, etc. It took most of the day for the yard work (and I still have about a small tree's worth of brush to get rid of). So, my downstairs project suffered. No new sts on the sock. However, (drum roll, please) I finished up the hat!

It's got a zig zag pattern above the stripes and a star decrease on top. Looks like it'll fit a 3, 4, and/or 5 year old. Made of Plymouth Encore (MC) and another super wash left over from a pair of WW socks for the lavender stripes.

Today we have eggs to dye. If it's relatively calm around here, my oldest GD and I will do them. If it's chaotic, I'll wait till my daughter gets home and then we'll all do them together. Then tomorrow.....we get deviled eggs. Yum! Along with roast chicken, and possibly ham, steamed fresh green beans and baby carrots and either rice or potatoes. No dessert planned as I'm sure that wascally wabbit will handle that!

My daughter's work schedule is changing yet again. This time I'll get some time off! She'll leave the house on Saturday and Sunday at 7:30 and not get home till 11:30 pm. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday she'll only work from 4-6 pm. Wednesdays from 9 to 2, and Friday mornings from 9 to 11. That'll give me a variety of play times with F, and some "off duty" time at home! Yeah! Weekends will be hell, but, hey, the payoff is great!

Plans for the day include CO a new hat and working on the sock!
